For her second album (March 27, 2026), Magali Michaut chooses to rise above (“Prendre de la hauteur“) to step back from the surrounding noise and take a breath in the face of today’s harsh realities and the complexities of relationships. The mood shifts between soft, ethereal atmospheres and more upbeat, festive rhythms. It is a journey of constant learning and questioning, accepting one’s limits while striving to transcend them, all while acknowledging that the path itself is endless. Magali Michaut shares reflections on the melancholy of childhood and her deep connection to Cergy, the town where she grew up, as well as her thoughts on the state of the world. This new release brings significant depth to the arrangements and production: alongside folk guitars, one hears banjo, mandolin, pedal steel, and dobro, as well as a brass section, cello, and clarinet, all complemented by electronic elements.
